The influence of suppression of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells on the humoral
responses to hepatitis C virus (HCV) core and nonstructural 3 proteins was
studied. An increasing viral burden cannot substitute for the lack of
functional T cells in maintaining humoral HCV-specific responses.
